Mission Accomplished

Okay so I kinda overheard my dad talking about hockey on the phone to someone. This in and of itself is a big deal because my dad is really not a hockey guy. He's only been watching it since I've been dragging him off to games. Anyway, I couldn't help but overhear him talking about the Q and how much he liked it and he even got all his facts about it right.

I'm so happy!

My total non-hockey father has finally voluntarily started talking about hockey to other (non-hockey) people.

All my lecturing has finally paid off! YAY!

Now if he can stop bringing up the WHA every time I mention the WHL, we'd be all set :D

Woohoo congratulations! I still have a long way to go with my family, but my dad did ask me the result of the USA/Canada game yesterday. It made me quite happy!

Congratulations! Good work.

My mom is a pseudo-hockey fan. I think it just started a few years ago because maybe she wanted to relate with me and my brother more? I'm not sure. Anyway, she doesn't know much about the teams, but she enjoys watching it, particularly playoff hockey and the Olympics. Whenever she can cheer on the home team (booo leafs, yay canada) in a big game, she likes to watch with us.

Congrats! He seemed to be enjoying himself at the game we went to with you.

My parents aren't sports fans but I have taken them to a few games over the years and they have liked it. They do know who Alex Ovechkin is!

My mom DID call me in 1987 the morning after the Caps lost Game 7 in the playoffs to the Islanders in 4 OT to tell me how sorry she was and see if Bobbi and I were okay. Since she didn't really care about the outcome of the game, I thought that was really nice of her to be so concerned.

Grrrreg - Awww, I bet that made you happy! :)

Shan - That's great!! Although... did you just imply that the Leafs actually participated in big and important games? :D

Dave - That was nice of your mom to call! That must have been a really tough loss =(
