Hey Gary!

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

I was reminded today that on June 24th 1980, the Atlanta Flames moved to Calgary and became the Calgary Flames. Let me repeat that. The Atlanta Flames of Georgia, USA moved to Alberta, CANADA.

Maybe a map would help?

See? We've got a precedent. You can SO move the Coyotes to Hamilton.

Yeah, I just wish they didn't keep the name. Calgary Flames? Atlanta gets hot. Calgary doesn't know what hot is.

The Hamilton Coyotes would be pretty funny, too.

That's a pretty strong point Gary.

Justin - Maybe it's wishful thinking? Like, they want it to be hot in Calgary... =p

Yves - =D seriously though, someone (can't remember if it was the judge or one of the lawyers or someone) mentioned during this whole Coyotes thing that they'd never a case where a team in the US wanted to move to Canada. Or something. It was weird.
