But when I look at my newspaper - in Montreal - and all I see is "Blah Hossa, Blah, Pens, Blah, Wings", I get annoyed.

I'd be sad if I was stuck with Garon too....Oh wait. We were stuck with him... but that was a long time ago =pEternal Pessimisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17121586401142752670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8950036247778728553.post-65219072225704040592009-05-29T17:51:41.792-04:002009-05-29T17:51:41.792-04:00Oh, it's definitely a fan thing, too. Nobody's bent out of shape about Conklin being a Wing, even though we're now stuck with Garon as a backup.Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00527850321812906680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8950036247778728553.post-34120251329667280272009-05-29T17:48:08.648-04:002009-05-29T17:48:08.648-04:00I was under the impression that most people consid...I was under the impression that most people considered him jerk because he said he wanted to go play with a team that could win (with the obvious implication that the Pens were not that team). That was certainly my impression of him last year. I've obviously changed my feelings bu that has more to do I think with my general views as a fan than they do with what teams I am a fan of, if you know what I mean.

In all honestly, most of the griping I've come across hasn't come from Pens fans. The media seems to have decided that this was a big issue when it's not really. I think that was more point. Players come and go and Hossa isn't the only player from the Pens last year to be playing with the Wings this year. Just leave the non-issue alone.Eternal Pessimisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17121586401142752670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8950036247778728553.post-46142155893377964962009-05-29T11:18:51.989-04:002009-05-29T11:18:51.989-04:00He's not a jerk because he left to go to the Wings...He's not a jerk because he left to go to the Wings, he's a jerk because he made every indication that he was coming back. Not only did he not come back, he took less money and a shorter contract to go to the team that just beat his old team in the Finals.

Oh, and the time that Shero was wasting trying to figure out what was going on with him could have been used to much better effect in just about any other possible way.

At least, that's what I'm told. I'm fine that he left. While I'd rather have him than Satan or Fedotenko for sure, I'd rather have the combination of Orpik and long-term Malkin than Hossa any day, and I'm not sure that those two contracts would have been possible with Hossa on the team long-term.Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00527850321812906680noreply@blogger.com
